Use Me Lord!

Read : Isaiah 6:8  Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:  “Whom shall I send,  And who will go for Us?”  Then I said, “Here  am I! Send me.”

I know most of us have heard of this famous quote "God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways
for His glory."

At first it may seem that this statement isn’t quite right and you may not believe it. You may be thinking, “I’m just a lay person what can God do with me! ” and lose sight of the fact that we are the Clay and God is the Potter.
Most of us also fail to appreciate the fact that God does not look at our qualification or how perfect we are for Him to use us avail His mighty works in us.  Rather than thinking in terms of whether or not you have the right qualifications or extensive ministry experience I want you to go back to the Gospel. God took a shepherd boy and made Him King of Israel. God used a donkey after all to deliver a message to an Apostle. God uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways.

When God want to use you, He does not look at the personality in question, how famous you are, your educational qualification, how righteous you are. Some of us might be tempted to think you need high class honors, be a person of repute or even have high extensive ministry to be used by God.

Think of the Apostle Paul, he was one of the most educated men in his days but on his way to Damascus to persecute God's children [Acts 9], God's light reflected in him to send His message to him, God brought him down and delivered His message using a donkey. God chose Paul as His instrument to proclaim His glory to the Gentiles and their kings and the people of Israel at large. You might be like the Apostle Paul who have various certificates, recognition, influence just to mention a few but might not be humble for you to be used by God. Humble yourself before God and He will raise you up higher. The Lord humbled Paul and used him to plant churches, preach the gospel of grace, wrote 14 epistles and did marvelous things for God. God can use well educated people for His glory but He often humbled such personalities in their pride so they rely on Him for wisdom and understanding.

You might see yourself as miserable sinner but the fact is we are all born sinners and what really matters is the condition of our heart to willingly offer ourself to be used by God to his mighty glory.
You also need to acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner but by the blood of Christ Jesus which was shared on the cross of Calvary you have been washed free from your sinful act and have accepted Him as your Lord and mighty Savior and ready to offer yourself to be used used by Him to share His gosple to the world.

God used ordinary people in extraordinary ways for His glory. Noah was a drunkard but God used him to save mankind. Why? He had a heart of a righteous man, blameless among his cohort and walked faithfully in the glory of almighty God. No wonder he was able to find grace in the sight of God and save the entire human race when God decided to destroy the earth.

Peter denied Christ Jesus yet God used him to preach the gospel. Rahab was a harlot but it was her house the two spies sent by Joshua lodged for protection from the soldiers after been exposed to danger in Jericho and the interesting part is that she got married to a prince I the land of Judah named Salmon, they begot Boaz who begot Obed, Obed begot Jesse, who also begot king David through which the generation of Christ Jesus can be traced.

If you are hungering for more of God, and desire to be used by Him then use whatever gifts, talents and abilities you have and direct these in the right direction towards God, motivated by a desire for His glory by using your God-given gifts and talents in the Church and beyond to edify God’s people and.expand the Kingdom of God.
Do you want to be used by God? Then open your heart to Him as He used you to make an impact and make an ordinary being join the multitude of ordinary saints before you who became extraordinary because they served a God who is glorified not by self-serving people but people who are humbled by His grace and holy before Him. Amen!
