"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." H. Jackson Brown, Jr. - American Author
Bowline is an ancient knot used to form a fixed loop at the end of a rope allowing the rope to be easily tied or untied. Bowlines, also, allow a boat to be safely and quickly perched near the shore away from troubling storms and near safety nets. It's very comfortable living a predictable and safe life. Are you fixed, inflexible and unwilling to venture out? Who wants to live in the midst of storms? Life brings us storms no matter how close to the shore we stay. And it's unwise to create our own storms, but sometimes storms just happen. We can, however choose to grow and mature our way through life's storms and learn to appreciate storms as opportunities. Who wants to live in the midst storms? The pioneers do. The dreamers do. The explorers do. And the discovers do. One doesn't have to live recklessly to be a pioneer, but don't be afraid to loosen the ropes of restriction and sail away from the shore and into unknown territories. Tie your ropes of reliance onto your Father in Heaven.
